In order to fulfil Assessment Objectives 2, 3 and 4 I researched Music Magazines in order to identify their generic characteristics.

  • The headline "Paramore get caught up in Twilight Hysteria" helps the reader relate to the band as it shows they have similar movie interests.
  • The female band member is posing holding a red apple. This relates to the movie poster for Twilight which is two female hands holding a red apple. This anchors with the headline about the band's love of the film.
  • The heading above the article, states "Tennesse Pop-Punks Head Up. Soundtrack of Record Breaking movie" this relates to the article that it is above, talking about the soundtrack to the movie.
  • The Feedback section of the spread asks the audience what they think of the paramore soundtrack on Twilight. This draws the reader in to give feedback as it makes them think that their opinion matters.
  • In the top left pughole, there is information of the Kerrang! webside. This is put here as the reader is drawn to this location on the page, and it gives them information as to where they can learn more out of the magazine.
  • In the paragraph, the language is peer-to-peer as informal terms are used. This is shown when the lead singer "Hayley Williams" is called "Williams".
